What Steel is used for your pieces?
For our metal art pieces, we use 2mm Mild Steel and 2mm Weathered Steel.
What is Weathered Steel?
Weathered Steel, also known as the brand name Cor-Ten, is a corrosion resistant steel that develops a Protective Oxide Layer over years of exposure to the natural elements. This layer matures into a rich patina colouration. Weathered Steel is recognised for its long-term durability and the low maintenance aspect.
Do you custom design?
We certainly do! We design and manufacture our pieces in-house at our Brisbane warehouse, taking immense pride in our design work. We will work with you to design your dream piece, providing design briefs prior to proceeding to manufacturing.
Do you do commercial wall art, fencing, gate or privacy screen work?
Yes we can! We have done some commerical jobs and will keep on doing them. We have already completed some with schools and have more to come.
Can you do work for Architects?
We certainly can! We will work hand in hand formulating a design and sizing to create exactly what they are looking for in their architectural plans for the build.
Are you Australian Made?
Chateau de Glass is proudly Australian Made from start to finish. We design, manufacture and dispatch our pieces in-house at our Brisbane warehouse.
Are your wall arts for outdoor use?
Yes! They are for both indoor and outdoor use. For Outdoors we powder coat and are a Dulux accredited powder coater. We apply a 75% zinc shield coat under our colour coat. With this being through Dulux we give a 10 year warranty on corrosion and fading.
Can you keep these wall arts if you live near the ocean?

How do I care for my Weathered steel Metal Wall Art?
For our Weathered Steel, regular upkeep is not necessary as the steel is corrosion resistant, however if you like a certain level of weathered rust you can apply Penetrol every 3-6 months to stop it from rusting further changing colour.
How do I care for my Mild steel Metal Wall Art?
Wall arts should be maintained every 6 months. Carefully remove any loose surface deposits with a wet sponge by gently rubbing. Clean by gently rubbing the surface with a soft brush and a dilute solution of a mild detergent, e.g. pH-neutral liquid hand or dishwashing detergent in warm water to remove dust, salt and other deposits. For stubborn stains use only recommended solvents on the affected area, e.g. Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or methylated spirits and rinse off with clean water. Do not use other aggressive solvents. Then Rinse the surfaces with clean fresh water after cleaning to remove all residues.
How do I install my wall art?
We recommend installation by a qualified tradesperson.

How do I calculate Shipping?
Shipping cost is calculated at the checkout. Once you have added the design to your cart and entered in your shipment details, a shipping cost is then calculated prior to proceeding with purchase.
How long until my order will be dispatched?
Our pieces are manufactured to order. We have a 5 business day manufacturing period. *Custom and personalised designs will take a little longer as we need to allow for design time. Upon completion of manufacturing, you will then receive a tracking number for your order.
